You’ll have lots of responsibility, and with it lots of room to bring your creativity and ideas to further enhance the work of the sales team, their connection to our customers, and drive ever greater sales results. You will ensure our company remains true to our mission of being the most loved payments company through every interaction the we have with our merchants, while building and driving a high output sales culture.

What you’ll do:

  • As the leader of a small but mighty team, you will use both their and your experience in the day-to-day operations to drive improvements to the sales role and customer experience.
  • Recruit, train/develop and lead our Sales/Customer Success team.
  • Develop, evaluate and implement sales strategies and objectives while managing day-to-day operations.
  • Constantly analyze our key metrics, business trends/market and team performance to consistently adapt, evolve and grow both new and existing sales channels.
  • Mentor and coach high performing sales team that have a high degree of ownership and collaboration, excellent product/market knowledge and can use solution and brand based selling to drive performance across their portfolios.
  • Collaborate across departments to define and refine sales priorities and contribute to the overall marketing and product plans to enhance merchant recruitment and onboarding experience. 


  • Demonstrated experience and success in leading sales and/or customer success operations and team building in a high growth startup environment.
  • Adept at hiring and coaching junior staff to build a high performance sales team, comfort with training on handling objections, and empowering team members to remove hurdles.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong aptitude in managing both internal and external relationships and stakeholders.
  • Intuitive and positive outlook with the motivation to adapt and excel in a continually changing environment.
  • Experience and success working in a start-up/scale-up environment with an all hands on deck culture is an asset.
  • Previous experience in SaaS, technology or financial services, or B2B sales is an asset.

Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada and be located in Calgary for this position. Helcim uses a hybrid work structure where team members can work 3 days in the Calgary office (Monday/Wednesday/Friday) and 2 days (Tuesday/Thursday) at home.
